BBC News thinks songs from the sixties are "latest hits"
I couldn't help noticing that when BBC Six O'Clock News' George Allagiah said "Why these pensioners find singing the latest hits is just the tonic" that the pensioners concerned were singing "Hi Ho Silver Lining" (released 1967). Later in the piece they got really up-to-date with "Sunny Afternoon" (1966).
