I continue to be amazed at the thoughtfulness of James Graham. He reaches the parts which many of the rest of us, frankly, can't even be bothered to try to reach. He is amazingly fair. His middle ought to be "caveat".
His "Comment is free" article from yesterday: "Team Clegg is losing momentum" is a must read.
James has also done astonishingly detailed and fair analyses of Clegg's National Liberal Club speech and Huhne's Liberal Revolution manifesto. James has given them both scores. These scores cannot be compared, as James himself says, not least because one set is out of 75 and one set is out of 25.
Anyway, for those who want to see both sets of scores without having to flick through the links, I haven't compared them but I have set them out below entirely separately, and definitely not in a comparative way:
Clegg National Liberal Club speech:
Comfort rating: 21/25 - 84%
Reaching out: 11/25 - 44%
Personal rating: 17/25 - 68%
STOP IT! DO NOT COMPARE THOSE NUMBERS WITH THESE:
Huhne Liberal Revolution manifesto:
Comfort rating: 59/75 - 79%
Reaching out: 41/75 - 55%
Personal rating: 60/75 - 80%
