Caroline Spelman - sell all shares!

When I studied statistics for a little while, my tutor used to pour scorn on "whoopee" graphs. Those are graphs which truncate the scale on the Y axis in order to accentuate the increase or decrease represented by the graph. In other words, if you had used the proper scale starting at zero, the graph wouldn't look particularly dramatic. Truncate the scale though, and the graph can be made to look very sexy.

There is a very good example of a "whoopee" graph on Politics Home at the moment. However, despite its (only slightly) exagerrated nature, it does make an interesting point - and that is that the bottom has dropped out of the Caroline Spelman market. The Politics Home PHI5000 panel net approval rating for Ms Spelman has dropped from -4 on April 4th to -19 on July 3rd.
