Coming soon - new LibDem main party website

I've had a "sneaky-peeky" of the party's new website, which is currently being finalised (but not quite yet available for general viewing). I have to say that I am unnaturally excited by it. The look and feel of it is much more interactive and much more "with it". It looks a little more like a blog than the current site and is generally much more whizzy and accessible.

I particularly like the buttons on the front page which allow you to click: "I am a citizen/ journalist/supporter".

There's a great drop down menu at the top - it just says "issues" - you click on it and have a whole series of options for policy areas -e.g "better government". You then get a little window which opens up within the home page (i.e. without flying off into the nether regions of a policy document) which gives you a quick summary of our mission in that area, together with a few options for that policy area - such as "key spokesperson"/"policy"/"campaigns" etc.

There's a little tag cloud - like a blog - which I like, it's a nice touch.

There is also a pretty comprehensive index down the bottom of the home page. There's also a great tool where you put in your post code and get lots of info about the LibDems in your area.

All in all, the new site will bring a very welcome fresh touch to the LibDems online. The old site doesn't really invite you to re-visit over and again. This one does. It is much more "sticky" (I think the expression is!).

Well done team!
