Loose bowel moment for Cameron

YouGov show Gordon Brown's Labour 10 points ahead of the Tories. We're at 18% in a new ICM poll and 14% in YouGov (which interviewed more people - 1,966 against 1,007 for ICM).

  1. Statistically the difference in polling 1900 people and a 1000 people out of 30 million voters is negligible - I'm surprised they bothered.

The thing most often forgotten by poll watchers is the 3% margin of error in the small print - which means that 18% and 14% are effectively the same result.

Trend is what matters - and its pretty clear from all the most recent polls that the Tories are in deep trouble.
