Charles Kennedy has put together a fantastic case to win.
I was initially seduced by Des Lynham and his Seven Sisters cliffs in Sussex. But, hey, they are chocolate-boxey and sentimental. They are falling apart anyway.

No, if it's a choice between a far away island that no one can get to for most of the year or the wonderfully atmospheric and popular Seven Sisters, the Sisters win hands down.
ReplyDeleteIf in doubt, I suggest you visit and stay for the sunset. Awesome.
Mind you the pub on the top of Beachy Head is ghastly - a Harvester.
Skye isn't far away! Get the sleeper to Fort William, then take one of the Great Train Journeys of the World from Fort William to Mallaig (stop off for some huge prawns just landed), and thence a short ferry hop over to Armadale on Skye. you can do it all year, although admittedly, the train frequency from Fort William isn't great in the winter months.
ReplyDeleteYou can drive all the way there these days even, over the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin. And now it's toll-free...
