Matthew Amroliwalah deserves an award for his interrogation of Andrew MacKay here. It's a classic to be savoured and enjoyed.
The Independent reports that MacKay and Kirkbride took £282,731 from the taxpayer for their two second homes. So by my reckoning, given that one home was "kosher", that's £141,365 which may well be in question for claiming double. Mackay says he "made an error of judgment in accepting advice from the fees office".
He appears to live on a different planet from the rest of us.
Mr Mackay is holding a public meeting in his Bracknell constituency in the next few days so that constituents can "cross-examine" him. It should be an interesting "cross-examination".
